Description

Meet the 2027 Polaris 850 RMK® SPS 165 7S—a purpose-built mountain sled that’s happiest when the trail sign disappears and the snow gets deep, steep, and wildly fun. This one shows up in , a look that feels right at home against a blank winter backdrop while you point the nose toward the next untouched line. (And if you like options, this model is also offered in Gloss Black and INDY® Red / White Lightning / Gloss Black.)

At the heart of this RMK is the Patriot™ 840—a liquid-cooled, 2-cylinder, 2-stroke horizontal in-line engine with reed valves and fuel injection. Translation: quick response, crisp running, and the kind of power delivery that makes you grin inside your helmet when you roll on the thumb throttle. It sips from an 11-gallon tank, runs on regular fuel, and uses gas/oil injection, keeping things simple when your day’s focus is finding the next pocket of powder, not babysitting your setup. Starting is classic and straightforward with a pull starter, and when it’s time to back out of a spot or reset your approach, you’ve got reverse on tap.

Power gets to the snow through a CVT transmission with a belt drive, matched with a P-85 / TEAM LWT clutch setup that’s built for the on-and-off rhythm of mountain riding—feather it through the trees, then let it eat up the face. The whole package is wrapped around Polaris’ MATRYX aluminum frame, keeping things strong and ready for real terrain, with a dry weight of 430 lb that suits the sled’s “go explore” personality.

Up front, the RMK® React™ independent A-arm suspension delivers 9 inches of travel with Polaris IFP adjustable gas shocks and shock-mounted adjustment—so you can tune for your style, your snow, and your day. Out back, the RMK rear suspension brings 16 inches of travel with two rear shocks plus a center shock, all Polaris IFP adjustable gas units. It’s the kind of setup that encourages you to stand up, get active, and let the sled work with you as the terrain changes from windblown to bottomless.

And then there’s the business end: a Series 8 track stretched to 165 inches long and 15 inches wide, with 2.75-inch lugs that are basically an invitation to aim higher. This is the piece that helps the sled stay composed when you’re climbing, keep moving when the snow turns sugar-deep, and stay predictable when you’re sidehilling your way into a fresh line.

Control feels natural thanks to ProTaper™ handlebars and a manual steering setup. The ski stance adjusts from 36 to 38 inches, letting you balance agility and stability depending on where you ride. The sled rides on Gripper® skis (plastic, with carbide skags) that are built to hold their line when conditions get variable.

Creature comforts and smart touches are here too—because long days feel better when your gear works with you. You get heated, adjustable driver hand grips, a one-piece vinyl seat, and a clean cockpit with LED lighting. There are practical alerts like a temperature warning light and a fuel gauge, plus RIDE COMMAND™ GPS to help you keep track of where you’ve been (and, more importantly, how to get back after you’ve chased “just one more” bowl). Add in protective details like a belt guard and snow guard, along with skid-resistant running boards, and it’s clear this sled is made for real mountain use.

In , this 850 RMK® SPS 165 7S looks ready before it even fires up—built to turn deep snow into your playground, one climb, carve, and powder-filled reset at a time.
