Description

Meet the 2027 Polaris Patriot 9R PRO-RMK® 165 in —a mountain machine that looks like it was designed to disappear into deep snow and reappear on top of the next ridgeline, grinning. The vibe is clean, aggressive, and ready to point uphill the moment the truck straps come off.

Under that sleek skin sits the Patriot 9R: an 899cc, liquid-cooled, 2-cylinder, 2-stroke built in a horizontal in-line layout with reed valve breathing. It’s fuel injected (gas with oil injection) and happy on regular fuel, so you can spend less time fussing over what’s in the can and more time picking your line. Fire-up is old-school satisfying with a pull start, and when it’s time to maneuver out of a tight spot, reverse is there to save the day (and your dignity).

Power gets put to snow through a CVT setup with belt drive, backed by a P-22 / TEAM LWT clutch package. Translation: smooth, responsive drive that feels right at home when you’re feathering the thumb throttle through trees or rolling into the power to climb out of a bowl.

The backbone is Polaris’ MATRYX aluminum frame, keeping things light and purposeful with a dry weight of 419 lbs. It’s paired with a mountain-friendly stance: 43.4 inches wide, with a ski stance adjustable from 36 to 38 inches—handy when you want nimble precision one day and extra confidence the next. Up front, Independent A-Arm suspension with RMK® React™ geometry delivers 9 inches of travel, while the rear PRO-RMK suspension brings 16 inches of travel to keep you composed when the terrain gets loud.

And the shocks? This sled doesn’t just “have” suspension—it brings the good stuff. Walker Evans Racing (WER®) adjustable gas shocks with remote reservoirs are used at the front, rear, and center, all shock-mounted adjustable and coil-over where applicable. That means you can actually tune the ride for your snowpack, your speed, and your style—whether you’re carving mellow sidehills or sending it into chopped-up leftovers.

Out back, the business end is a Series 8 track measuring 165 inches long and 15 inches wide, with big 2.75-inch lugs that look like they’re ready to grab the mountain by the lapels. With 11 gallons of fuel capacity, you’ve got enough range to turn “one quick run” into “how is it already late?”

Control touches are exactly what you want when winter tries to bite: heated, adjustable grips (rubber feel), hand guards, and a low windshield that keeps the airflow honest without getting in your way. The ProTaper® handlebar keeps steering direct and familiar, while Gripper® plastic skis with carbide skags help you hold a line when the snow turns tricky.

When it’s time to slow things down, the sled uses an RMK® brake with a hydraulic rear disc—strong, consistent, and confidence-building on steep pitches or tight descents.

Inside the cockpit, it’s not just “gauges and go.” You get RIDE COMMAND™ GPS, plus Bluetooth® audio and mobile app instrumentation. Add in LED lighting and clear warning info via gauge-based fuel level and temperature alerts, and you’ve got a sled that feels as modern as it is mountain-capable.

Bottom line: the 2027 Patriot 9R PRO-RMK® 165 in is built for riders who measure their best days in elevation gained, lines linked, and laughs echoed into cold air—then do it all again on the next pull.
