Description

Meet the 2027 Polaris Patriot 9R RMK® KHAOS® 155 in —a mountain sled that looks like it was made to disappear into the trees and then reappear on top of the next ridgeline with a grin-inducing bark. It’s equal parts purpose-built and playful, the kind of machine that makes you take the long way back to the trailer “just because.”

At the heart of the fun is the Patriot 9R: a liquid-cooled, 2-cylinder, 2-stroke, horizontal in-line engine with reed valve induction and fuel injection. With 899 cc on tap (regular fuel, gas/oil injected), it’s the sort of crisp, responsive power that feels perfectly at home when you’re hopping from line to line—smooth when you’re rolling into the throttle and urgent when you decide the next climb is the one. It fires via pull start, keeps things simple, and breathes out through a single exhaust that sounds like motivation.

Power delivery stays right where mountain riders want it thanks to a CVT transmission with belt drive, matched with a P-22 / TEAM LWT clutch setup. Add reverse, and the KHAOS becomes a lot easier to live with when the terrain gets tight or you need to reset for another attempt without turning the hillside into a three-point turn.

Built on the MATRYX aluminum frame with a plastic body, this sled keeps a purposeful feel without asking you to wrestle it all day. It measures 126.7 in long, 43.4 in wide, and 53 in tall, and tips the scales at a dry weight of 419 lb—a combination that feels ready to dance in technical terrain while still planting you with confidence when the throttle comes back in. With an 11-gallon fuel capacity, you can spend more time searching for untracked stashes and less time thinking about the next fill-up.

The mountain manners come from suspension that’s built to take hits, hold a sidehill, and stay composed when the snow goes from dreamy to… “character-building.” Up front, you get an independent A-arm setup with RMK® React™ suspension and 9 inches of travel. Out back, the RMK® KHAOS® rear suspension delivers 16 inches of travel with two rear shocks. Damping is handled by WER® Velocity adjustable gas shocks with remote reservoirs at the front, rear, and center—coil-over, tuneable, and ready for those days when your speed increases at the same rate as your confidence.

Out in front, Gripper® plastic skis with carbide skags help keep steering predictable when the snow firms up, while the ProTaper® handlebar with thumb throttle keeps inputs natural when you’re standing up and moving around. The stance adjusts between 36 and 38 inches, letting you fine-tune how planted (or how quick) you want the front end to feel.

And then there’s what puts all that power to the snow: the Series 8 track, 155 x 15 with 2.75-inch lugs. It’s the business end of the whole operation—built to claw, float, and keep pushing when the climb gets steep and the snow gets deep.

Creature comforts are smartly mountain-focused: LED lighting with a tinted lens, a low windshield, heated, adjustable driver grips, and a clean one-rider setup with a one-piece vinyl seat. Add RIDE COMMAND™ GPS, plus a fuel gauge and a temperature warning light, and you’ve got the essentials to stay oriented and informed when the day runs long and the lines keep calling.

In , this KHAOS doesn’t just look the part—it feels like it was built for that moment when you spot a fresh face, point the skis up, and commit.
