Description

Meet the 2027 Polaris Patriot 9R RMK® KHAOS® 146 in —a mountain sled that looks like it was built for the moment the trail ends and the real fun begins. It’s the kind of machine you point at a steep, untouched face and think, “Yep… that line.” (And if you’re the indecisive type, this model also comes in Gloss Black, Sunrise Silver Metallic / Gloss Black / Indy Red, Blue Dusk / Gloss Black / Neon, INDY® Red / White Lightning / Gloss Black, White Lightning / Velocity Blue, and Ghost White Metallic / Plum Crazy / Turbo Silver—but this setup is the one that’ll have your buddies staring before you even pull the cord.)

At the heart of it all is the Patriot 9R—a liquid-cooled, 899cc (54.8ci) 2-cylinder, 2-stroke with reed valves and fuel injection. It’s a gas / oil-injected combo that runs on regular fuel, with a single exhaust and that crisp, instant response you want when you’re picking your way through technical trees or snapping the sled up onto edge. Starting is old-school and confidence-inspiring: pull start, gloves on, breath out, let it rip.

Power meets precision through a CVT with belt drive and a P-22 / TEAM LWT clutch setup, giving you smooth engagement when you’re feathering the thumb throttle and the ability to back out of a questionable decision thanks to reverse. (Because mountain riding is about sending it… and also about having an exit plan.)

The chassis is built around Polaris’ MATRYX aluminum frame, wrapped in durable plastic bodywork, and it stays practical where it counts: skid-resistant running boards, tunnel braces, belt guard, hand guards, and a snow guard ready for the realities of deep days. With a dry weight of 424.5 lbs, it’s eager to respond when you shift your weight, and its compact footprint—122.8" long, 43.4" wide, 53" high—keeps it feeling nimble when the terrain gets tight.

Up front, the RMK® React™ independent A-arm suspension delivers 9 inches of travel with shock-mounted adjustment, while WER® Velocity adjustable gas shocks with remote reservoirs (coil-over) help you tune the ride to match your mood: playful and poppy, or calm and composed. Out back, the RMK® KHAOS® rear suspension brings 16 inches of travel and two rear shocks—again, WER® Velocity adjustable gas shocks with remote reservoirs—plus a matching center shock for that controlled, lively feel when you’re dancing through bumps, dropping into bowls, or scrubbing speed before the next move.

Then there’s the business end: a 146" Crossover track, 15" wide, with 2" lugs—built to claw for traction, float when it matters, and keep momentum on your side. Steering comes via ProTaper® handlebars with manual control, and the stance adjusts from 36" to 38", letting you dial in how planted (or how flickable) you want the front end to feel. The sled rides on Gripper® composite skis with carbide skags, and when it’s time to rein things in, the RMK® hydraulic disc rear brake does the job with predictable feel.

Inside the cockpit, it keeps things rider-focused and ready for long days: a low, tinted LED setup, RIDE COMMAND™ GPS, plus smart warning aids like a temperature light and a fuel gauge so you’re not guessing when the adventure turns into a “how far back was the truck?” conversation. You get a clean, comfortable one-piece vinyl seat for one rider—because this is a solo mission machine—and heated, adjustable driver hand grips to keep your hands happy when winter is doing winter things.

Bottom line: in , this Patriot 9R RMK® KHAOS® 146 isn’t just ready for the mountain—it’s eager to make it your playground.
